Revisit Angkor Wat this morning, and get into the actual
temple. Wat, meaning temple, is the
largest religious monument in the world.
It is very hot and crowded, but as lunch approaches the place partially
clears out. Noodle time (as Evert calls
it) or lunch time for the Chinese has them leave for their lunch. We get to see monks giving blessings to some
people in the temple. The walls have
engraved the life of Vishna, which appears to be hundreds of meters of fights
with soldiers. Hindu religion seems to
be based on a fair bit of fighting.
In the afternoon, go to Rehash Trash, and Cindy and Nate
make a keychain and bracelet out of plastic bags. This is a program allowing women to start
their own businesses and make an income to break the poverty cycle.
I have a haircut in the evening, evidently the number 2 in Cambodia is equivalent to the number 1 anywhere else in the world. This is the second haircut I have had to pay for on this trip, and a whooping USD 2. Ouch!
