Banteay Srei, worth the drive

Saturday, July 8, 2017
The negotiations.
Seventy five minute out to Banteay Srei, or the Citadel of the Women.  It is a smaller temple, but the most impressive for engravings.  At the end of our visit and as we are departing out the back, the tourist police arrive, and try to sell Evert some tourist police badges.  The following exchange was wonderful, as Evert thanked him for the free badges.  The tourist police person then tried to explain that they are not free, but to be purchased.  Evert then gave him all but one back and said he could have these ones, but he would keep the last one for free.  This did not go over well either, and Evert left with nothing but a big smile.  The long drive back in the tuk tuk has us stop and take some pictures of a couple of other temples.  The four faces of Banteay Kdei were very nice to view as well.

In the afternoon, Cindy and I go to the Angkor National Museum.  Bit of a waste of money as it is more a museum of Hindu and Buddhist religion and less about the Angkors.
