Another twisty drive

Friday, June 30
Last day of school... what a long haul.  Congratulations to all our teaching friends for another year well done.  We loaded up in Vang Vieng with our friends Ans and Avert (from the Netherlands) once again for the drive to Vientiane.
The 160 km drive takes about 3.5 hours, and is full of infinite turns, but this drive did not have the same spectacular scenery as our Luang Prabang to Vang Vieng trip.  Arriving in Vientiane had us take a ten block taxi ride to move two blocks over.  Love being ripped off by taxi drivers.  Oh well, he did get us to where we wanted to be.  After getting settled, we went and checked out the night market.  This one is very different from the other markets with only knock off designer clothes on the rack.  We did find a street food vendor that made Donner Kabobs that were excellent, just had to avoid getting run over while waiting for the food.
Vientiane is the city of temples, old and new
